Tilden Trio

Tilden Trio was formed in 2004 by Juilliard schoolmates, Sarn Oliver (violin), Peter Wyrick (cello) and June Choi Oh (piano) after collaborating for decades in various ensembles, starting in the pre-college days.  The North Bay Classical Music wrote; “The Tilden Trio is now one of the Bay Area’s most sought after ensembles, and rightfully so.  It was a concert one won’t soon forget…future concerts by the trio shouldn’t be missed.”

This season, Tilden Trio’s concerts have included performances in Berkeley Chamber Series, Noe Valley Chamber Series, Sonoma Classical Society, Manteca Kindred Arts, and Oakmont Concert Series, as well as return performances in Chancellor’s Series at University of California, San Francisco, Dominican University Guest Concert Series, and San Francisco Symphony Chamber Music Series at Davis Symphony Hall. The trio was one of the featured artists for the 2007 Music Teacher’s Association of California Convention (MTAC) where the trio presented a recital and masterclasses.  Past April, the trio appeared as soloists in Beethoven’s “Triple Concerto” with Diablo Symphony Orchestra at Dean Lesher Theater.

Upcoming concerts will include perforrmances in Cabrillo College, St. Mary’s College, Four Seasons Concert at Holy Names College, Kutstown University (PA) Aarowhead Arts Concert and a multi-island concert tour of Hawaii as well as the return engagements in University of California at San Francisco, Dominican University and Davies Symphony Hall.

Sarn Oliver, violin, has performed as a soloist with the Dallas Symphony, Shreveport Symphony and Richardson Symphony among others.  He joined the San Francisco Symphony in 1993 after serving as Principal Second Violin in the Sacramento Symphony and Concertmaster of the Santa Cruz Symphony.  An active composer, his Trio One for two Violins and Viola was premiered at the Chamber Music Series at Davies Symphony Hal in 2005.

Peter Wyrick, is the Associate Principal cellist of the San Francisco Symphony.  He was a member of the acclaimed Ridge String Quartet whose recording of the Dvorak Piano Quintet with Rudolf Firkusny on the RCA label won the French Diaposon d’Or and was nominated for the 1993 Grammy Award.  He has performed as a soloist with the San Francisco Symphony, the Aspen Chamber Symphony and Kozponti Sinonicus in Budapest, Hungary among others.

June Choi Oh, piano, is a currently a faculty member at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Dominican University of California, and is a former faculty member of the Manhattan School of Music.  She has performed as a soloist with the New Haven Symphony, Aspen Concert Orchestra, Palo Alto Philharmonic and the Filarmonica de Jalisco in Mexico.
